Expense Details: In 2006 and 2007, the Situation Room was fully renovated. This updated the room with the latest technology and security features. These included replacing old audio visual and telecommunications equipment, and implement cellular phone blocking devices and other anti bugging technologies.

The Press Briefing room was also updated in 2007. This cost $8 million, with $2 million being paid for by news agencies.
